Russia suddenly launched a large-scale attack, Ukraine was at a disadvantage

After capturing Avdiivka on February 17, Russia suddenly launched a large-scale attack on the Zaporizhia region.

In early February, President Zelensky convened a discussion meeting with senior Ukrainian generals, with a focus on frontline areas, fortifications, and key infrastructure such as Avdiivka and Rabotine.

The question is why did Russia suddenly deploy a large-scale offensive posture and no longer apply defensive tactics?

First, Kiev has not received the expected 60 billion USD in aid from the US, while an aid package of tens of billions of dollars from the EU has only just been approved and the first disbursement of 4.5 billion USD is still on the way.

While supplies from the US and the West are still `trickle`, Ukraine’s war potential has basically been exhausted.

Second, the US and the West still maintain high determination to defeat Russia, however, combat achievements on the battlefield show the opposite.

The fall of Avdiivka greatly reduced the morale of Ukrainian soldiers.

Even so, if one Avdiivka fails, it is nothing, but if five or even 10 important cities similar to Avdiivka are lost, the Ukrainian armed forces could truly collapse.

Third, the election went smoothly – in which current President Vladimir Putin won an absolute victory – showing that Russian politics is very stable, now is the time for them to exert their strength to win a `big victory` to

Will Ukraine’s replacement of generals turn the situation around?

The sudden death of General Zaluzhny, former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the appointment of General Syrsky to replace him, greatly affected the army.

Although General Syrsky had certain achievements on the Ukrainian battlefield, such as the siege of Kiev and the counterattack in Kharkov, Mr. Zaluzhny always had a high reputation in the armed forces thanks to his great contribution in bankrupting the `attack` plan.

The Ukrainian military is said to be not completely satisfied with President Zelensky’s decision to change the top commander.

First, the change of command during a critical period must have affected Ukraine’s overall operations, but what they did not expect was that Russia would launch a large-scale counterattack at this time.

According to some Ukrainian officers, General Syrsky is also the cause of division in the Ukrainian army and is even a `roast` commander.

After all, General Syrsky, right from the moment he sat in the `hot seat`, suffered a series of failures.

In addition, the arsenal and equipment have been significantly depleted. Without the supply of artillery shells and new weapons from the West, Ukraine will find it difficult to achieve positive results on the battlefield.

Once Russia becomes certain that Ukraine is defenseless, its attack will become even more fierce.

After all, there are big differences between Russia and Ukraine, Kiev’s attack on Russian territory is `very small` and cannot weaken Russia’s defense industry.

In fact, everyone knows that for Russia, they are taking advantage of Ukraine’s difficulties to increase attacks across the battlefield and can use the Dnieper River landmark as a boundary, forcing Kiev to make concessions.

Russia does not sit still and wait until all Western support for Ukraine is implemented, including the possibility of NATO sending forces into direct combat, because that would be a greater threat, possibly forcing
